Medical bonus for government employees of Karnataka

Karnataka Government on 15th September, 2009 decided to revise the rates of employees' medical treatment by amending Karnataka Government Servants' (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1963. This will entitle all the employees to receive medical facilities as prescribed under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS).

The Centre in January 2001 authorized its employees to seek reimbursement of expenditure incurred because of medical treatment in recognized private hospitals. Following the Centre's move, the cabinet decided to amend the rules to alter the rates for treatment of various ailments in accordance with those prescribed by CGHS.
