13-Sept-2012 - Standing against Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation’s (KSRTC) unilateral decision of a hike in wages by 10%, around 1.10 lakh KSRTC and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation employees will go on a strike from tomorrow.

Standing against Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation’s (KSRTC) unilateral decision of a hike in wages by 10%, around 1.10 lakh KSRTC and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation employees will go on a strike from tomorrow. The workers demand that revision of wages should be executed after discussions with members and unions. Their unions’ spokeperson, H V Anantha Subburao also expressed anger at KSRTC transferring almost 400 employees in the last few months. KSRTC's managing director however has alleged that employees’ demands are illegal and with an additional cost of 800 Cr. with just a 10% hike in wages makes any further rise in wages non-negotiable.
