Air India pilots switch to Gulf airlines for better pay and benefits - December 26, 2012

Gulf Airlines like Qatar Airways, Etihad and Emirates is providing 40% more pay than Indian Airlines along with benefits such as free housing, medical services and schooling for 3 children upto 21 years of age.

Gulf Airlines like Qatar Airways, Etihad and Emirates is providing 40% more pay than Indian Airlines along with benefits such as free housing, medical services and schooling for 3 children upto 21 years of age. Air India seems to be facing a shortage of pilots due to this. 35 commanders have quit to do assignments with air carriers in the Gulf within 2-3 months time. The consequence of this is already visible, when last Sunday the Mumbai Riyadh flight was delayed, reportedly due to shortage of staff.
