Anand Sharma and Akhilesh Yadav have both stressed on the importance of the manufacturing sector in job creation. Sharma supported his arguments by providing statistics of 250 million Indians who would require more jobs by 2015. The challenge not only lies in providing jobs but also in providing the necessary skill sets. Sharma suggested creating national investment and manufacturing zones (NMIZ) while Yadav has said that the UP government has come up with many policy measures to attract investment and provide bureaucracy help in setting up of more manufacturing units.
