Many artists expressed their opinion in the ‘Art Industry Camp 2013’ stating that the art industry that experienced a boom since 1980s has slowed down post 2008 crisis. The industry was doing exceedingly well as new galleries opened up in 2000-2007. This trend, most believe is cyclic and temporary, however some are opinionated that the mass commercialization has sucked out appreciation for art.
