As per statistics, India’s labour force has reached 428.8 million between 2004 and 2010. However, there has been a major difference in the pattern of employment achievement when comparing the rural India with the Urban section. In the urban sector the size of the workforce went up by 7.8 million, whereas the rate in the rural sector has fallen to 6.8% from the earlier rate of 8.2%.
