Employment in the organized sector is rising steadily from 281.72 lakh in 2009 to 289.99 lakh in 2011, a jump of about 9 lakh. This growth accounts for increase in private sector with annual compound growth rate of 5.05% in its workforce while the public sector at 0.07%. These statistics are an output of Employment Market Information Programme of Ministry of Labour and Employment.
