Government may ease restrictions on NRI doctors to practices in India - January 14, 2013

15-Jan-2013 - Currently, if doctors trained outside India wish to practice in India, they wish to pass a screening test.

Currently, if doctors trained outside India wish to practice in India, they wish to pass a screening test. However the success rates of the screening tests are really low. The health ministry is now thinking of amending its MCI Act. The ministry will then have to look at every individual; case to ensure that the doctor is qualified enough to practice in India.
