Government raises the annual income threshold to include more in housing schemes for EWS - November 14, 2012

The government has raised the bar of the annual income of a family from INR 60000/year to now INR 100000/year for it to fall under the Economically Weaker Sections and will include them in their housing schemes and Rajiv Awas Yojna.

The government has raised the bar of the annual income of a family from INR 60000/year to now INR 100000/year for it to fall under the Economically Weaker Sections and will include them in their housing schemes and Rajiv Awas Yojna. Similarly the threshold for those under LIG has been raised to 200000/year. About 20 lakh people will benefit from this move.
