The UN agency, International Labour Organisation (ILO) has revealed that unemployment rates were 5.93% in 2012 and are expected to be 6.01% in 2013 and 2014. This in number means that the unemployed increased by 4 million in 2012 to 197 million and will increase by 5.1 million in 2013 and 3 million in 2014. ILO Director Guy Ryder has attributed this scenario to weak policies, uncertainty that has de-motivated investments and therefore led to slower hiring.
