Slowdown in trading activity, regulatory caps on brokerage fee and no signs of improvement in the capital market has made many firms like Religare, IDFC Securities, Deutsche Bank and Kotak Securities retrench their workforce. This retrenchment initially began at lower management levels but with a need to cost-cut it has begun to give senior level management their cards. About 18 senior management employees from the above-mentioned firms been sacked.
