Assocham surveyed 5000 women and 92% of them from all sectors and parts of the country feel insecure and unsafe during nocturnal hours of the day at work, public transport, roads, and buses. These public spaces are reported as being the most frequent interface of them being at the receiving end of sexual harassment. The Survey revealed that two thirds of women in the NCR have been a victim of sexual harassment in some for the other. Survey results showed that women in tourism, BPO, IT, are especially vulnerable.
