Under the Shops and Establishments Act three types of leaves are mentioned
- Privilege leave,
- Sick leave and
- Casual leave.
The leave provision varies from state to state. This means the number of leave an employee is entitled to depends upon the state in which his/her establishment is located in. Having said that, the leave policy of an establishment should be in tune with its respective state’s Shops and Establishments Act.
