Stressed out!Stress- a galling part of our busy lives! One cannot avoid stress as one has to deal with different situations everyday. We take stress to the workplace with us as well as back home. In today’s economy stress from work has become a threat to an employees’ mind and health and has become a part of our lives. A stressful person becomes weak physically as well as loses the mental ability to deal even with the simplest situation. Experts believe that irritation, losing temper frequently, difficulty in concentration, anxiousness, loss of sleep, loss of interest in social life are the most common symptoms of being stressed out. Therefore, it is important to know the ways and means by which we can deal with stress and not let it affect our health and mental abilities.

Prioritizing work according to importance and management of time is the key to keep stress at a distance. At workplace, with loads of distractions, managing your time is of utmost importance. You need to analyze your responsibilities and schedule your work accordingly. Psychiatrists believe that it is important for a person to take frequent breaks while at work, for example, after working for an hour over a presentation one can go out for a small 10 min stroll and come back with a fresh mind.

What the HR personnel can do to reduce employee stress at workplace? “HR personnel can play an important role in reducing employee stress levels by communicating with them about their job security, clearly defining the role and job description for them and by having a friendly approach towards all. Praising good work and motivating employees from time to time helps in building confidence and efficiency in employees. HR can also hold some social events from time to time for the employees to enjoy and get to know each other”, says a HR personnel.

The easiest way to relieve stress is to spend time with your loved ones- your parents, spouse or your kids. Take a break, a trip with your family occasionally. Follow these simple steps and enjoy a healthy life to the fullest.
