10-Oct-2012 - Tax Department’s analysis of e-returns in 2012-13 has shown 29000 tax payers have defaulted on their payments, causing the revenue collection to be low by INR 3770 crore.

Tax Department’s analysis of e-returns in 2012-13 has shown 29000 tax payers have defaulted on their payments, causing the revenue collection to be low by INR 3770 crore. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has directed the defaulters to pay their dues voluntarily, failure to which will attract penal action.
