2000 siksha karamcharis were on a strike in Raipur against lower pays and cadre as against the teachers of state education department. They want their salaries increased as per the 6th Pay commission and wanted to the government to regularize their services. The government sent a notice to all these karamcharis asking them to resume their work, they had left since December 3 last year. The government has now terminated 440 teachers on the grounds of not complying with the notice.
