A new inititaive “Unmeed ki rickshaw” to empower women - September 6, 2012

07-Sept-2012 - “Unmeed ki rickshaw” is a project launched by Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah and organised by Ummeed and Centre for Equality and Inclusion (Cequin).

“Unmeed ki rickshaw” is a project launched by Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah and organised by Ummeed and Centre for Equality and Inclusion (Cequin). This project will provide women with electric auto-rickshaws and provide them with basic training in skills and maintenance to run the rickshaws. The programme will begin in Jamia locality of Delhi and then aspires to spread to other areas. Currently it aims to provide 10 rickshaws per year at a charge of Rs.10/person.
