07-Sept-2012 - As per the National Employability Report for Hotel Management Graduates, only 6-18% of hotel management students are skilled enough to be employable.

As per the National Employability Report for Hotel Management Graduates, only 6-18% of hotel management students are skilled enough to be employable. The report is based on a sample of 3000 students from 120 institutes across the country who took AMCAT, a computer based adaptive and standardised test taken by many companies for employment in hospitality. The test scores of this test were alarmingly low for fundamental skills such as English proficiency, soft skills, logical ability, managerial skills, quality orientation etc. The report suggests that females are more employable and trainable than males. It also points out that about 20-28% of these students can be employable if they are further oriented and trained.
